Stereotyping can be defined as creating phony and often harsh representations associated with an individual or perhaps group of people. By trusting these types of untrue characteristics this influences world and becomes a disadvantage to the social employee by instilling unwanted inner biases. (Skovholt & Waterways, 2007, pg. 80) The media features negative portrayals of stereotypes for entertainment value yet this misunderstanding does not inform the public of the accurate manifestation of a certain population. In respect to Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman (2010) not everyone knows they're guilty of stereotyping, by laughing at selected types of jokes or watching these kinds of comedies and finding enjoyment from that, we since the audience are guilty of " perpetuating some ethnicity or ethnic stereotypesвЂќ (pg. 250). Particular number of stereotypes that we are all guilty of buying in to because of duplication from important people and peer impact. If people are not brought to those masse or knowledgeable about their civilizations it is hard to take away that misconception.
